The ISRL sprint cars took on the tricky 1/4 bullring  in Pocatello Idaho this last weekend.  There was very exciting racing all night long.  The trophy dash was the first race of the night and definitely set the pace for some exciting racing!  It was Kyle Waner on the pole with Rex Reeve on the outside of him when the green flag dropped.  Kyle jumped out to a small lead with veteran driver Travis Burke close in tow.  Travis tried to force Waner into a mistake with some nice inside and out pressure before making a very aggressive move to pass Kyle on the white flag lap!  In the B- heat Mike Ortiz and Richard Portenier would set the pace with Richard jumping out to the lead. Second year driver Rex Reeve battled on the outside of Ortiz, Farner, Graybeal and Waner before finally making the pass.  Reeve was able to set his sites on Portenier and ran him down with a few laps to go. The two of them battled over the next three laps.  Portenier was able to hold off the challenge from Reeve.  The A-heat looked like a bump to pass race with Burke and Skyberg on the front row. Burke took the lead with Sellars right behind him. In the back, it was Skyberg, Waltman, and Bachman trading paint and positions.  But when the checkered flag flew Burke was able to hold off Sellars followed by Skyberg, Waltman and Bachman.  Bachman set a new track record in qualfying with a blistering lap of 13.89, followed by Waltman, Sellars, Skyberg and Burke.

The feature main was set up to be a slug fest but it was second year Driver Rex Reeve that led the first 15 laps with as much as a straight away lead over Bachman.  Bachman started in the quick time slot and quickly made his way through traffic finding himself in second with his sites set on the leader.  Sellars ran in the third spot right on the back bumper of Bachman, followed by Waltman and Skyberg.  On lap 15, the yellow flag waved after Sellars spun in turn two.  Reeve gave up a half straight away lead.  On the restart, Reeve and Bachman could not get their cars going, which left the door wide open for Dean Waltman.  Dean took the lead, followed by Bachman- when yet another yellow flag came out when Reeve spun in some oil, taking Skyberg with him.  Waltman would prove to be too much to handle for Bachman and Sellars, Graybeal and Portenier and went on to a 10 car victory!  Good Job Dean!
